This upcoming Festival season, the Stratford Festival Theatre presents The Music Man – Meredith Wilson’s six-time Tony award-winning musical that promises fun for the whole family. The contagious energy of the musical numbers plus the hilarious twists and turns that may spell trouble for River City will keep audience members entertained from the first scene through to curtain call.
Who is The Music Man?
Cue Harold Hill, a conman and travelling salesperson, who tricks his community into supporting the development of a boys’ band he’s promised to lead. Harold cons one neighbour after another, all while planning to escape the bewildered River City with his newfound treasure.
Unfortunately for Harold, he didn’t anticipate the cure to his greed may be hiding around the corner – in the form of a lovely librarian with a strong moral compass. When faced with the thought of losing Marian, Harold has to do everything in his power to conceal his conman ways. Will he successfully woo the love of his life or will his past ways catch up to him too soon?
Stratford Raises the Bar for This Broadway Classic
Daren Herbert, who plays Harold, and his love interest, who is performed by Danielle Wade, have an amazing chemistry that will light up the stage and make you believe in the transformative power of romance once again.
Led by Donna Feore, critically-acclaimed Director and Choreographer, this seasoned Stratford cast elevates The Music Man to new heights where every note is perfect, and every performance captivates audience members who truly appreciate exceptional musical theatre.
